Diego Simeone, the head coach of Madrid’s Atletico, shared his thoughts following their 2–1 victory over Valencia in the 16th round of the Spanish league. The coach highlighted the difficulty of the match and emphasized that his team had to maintain maximum focus.
According to Simeone, Atletico faced a strong opponent on the field. In the first half, Aleksander Sorloth had two clear opportunities, the team scored a goal, while Valencia also created a dangerous situation.
In the second half, the visitors equalized the score and posed a serious threat to the goal again. "We had a chance with Juliano, then one goal was disallowed, and we managed to score again.
We played against a team that had real chances to win the match," Simeone said after the game. Following this result, Atletico has accumulated 34 points and currently sits in fourth place in La Liga.
