Moskvich cars to be updated: new features for models 3 and 8

The Moscow Automobile Plant is preparing to update its model lineup in 2026. According to the company, the changes will affect the brand's most affordable crossover, the Moskvich 3, and the flagship Moskvich 8. This was reported by Ixbt.com reports .

For now, specific technical changes for the Moskvich 3 remain undisclosed. This crossover, which has been on sale since late 2022 and is based on the JAC JS4, was previously enhanced with heated seats, improved anti-corrosion protection, and telematic services. Currently, the model is equipped with a 150 hp 1.5-liter engine and either a manual transmission or a CVT.

Updates are also planned for the large-sized Moskvich 8 model in 2026. Specifically, the vehicle will be equipped with a modern telematic complex. Currently, this seven-seater crossover is sold with a 174 hp engine and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Experts believe that updating the model lineup could help boost sales figures. According to statistics, 2,721 Moskvich cars were sold in Russia in the first quarter of 2026, which is 25 percent less than the previous year.
