How Gilles Vidal is transforming Stellantis design

Design star Gilles Vidal has achieved great success in reshaping the Peugeot and Renault brands over the last 20 years. However, he has now taken on the most complex task of his career: leading the design processes for over 10 automotive brands within Stellantis. This is reported by Autocar.co.uk reports .
Vidal's departure from Renault to join the Stellantis European division caused quite a stir last July. While he was working on reviving classic models like the Renault 4 and 5, as well as the new Twingo project, this decision came as a surprise to many.
In fact, he could have been the successor to Renault Group design chief Laurens van den Acker, but he chose to return to the PSA Group (now Stellantis), where he began his career. It was there that he gave the Peugeot brand a new identity through the 2010 SR1 concept and the 2017 Instinct model.
Vidal calls the current era the greatest revolution in recent centuries. He believes that artificial intelligence tools and modern technologies are fundamentally changing the automotive industry. He is working to make production processes more efficient and adapt to the demands of the new era.
