GAC S9 crossover enters the Russian market: A competitor to Li Auto L9

GAC plans to introduce its new large crossover, the GAC S9, to the Russian market this summer. This vehicle is seen as a primary competitor to the Li Auto L9. According to the company's press service, the model will be sold in Russia exclusively in a five-seater version, despite the existence of a three-row variant in the Chinese market. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports.
Sales of the GAC S9 are expected to begin in June 2026. Technical specifications for the Russian-market version have not yet been officially disclosed. However, the Chinese model is equipped with a 500-horsepower hybrid system, allowing for a range of up to 252 kilometers on pure electric power. It is highly likely that this same powertrain will be supplied to Russia.
The new flagship crossover will feature a two-tone body, 21-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic roof, and a modern media system with a large display. The GAC S9 is expected to be the brand's top-tier model in Russia.
The price of the vehicle has not yet been announced, but it is certain to be more expensive than the currently available S7 model. As a reminder, GAC vehicles in Russia come with a 5-year official warranty.
