AvtoVAZ completes preparations for Lada Azimut production

Russia's AvtoVAZ successfully completed the next stage of modernizing its production facilities in May 2026. Over the course of 17 days, more than 15,000 tasks were completed, with 543 million rubles invested from the company's own funds. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .
During the modernization process, new automated transport systems were introduced for the assembly of the Lada Azimut crossover, and the paint shop and welding equipment were upgraded. The company showcased the first pre-production models in April. Serial production of the vehicle is scheduled for September, with sales expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The new crossover will initially be offered with 1.6-liter (120 hp) and 1.8-liter (132 hp) engines. Customers will have the choice of a manual transmission or a CVT. The price of the model is expected to range from 2.2 million to 2.5 million rubles.
The Lada Azimut will be equipped with modern digital technologies, including a multimedia system with integrated GigaChat, 360-degree cameras, and a panoramic roof. A 390 hp all-wheel-drive hybrid version is also planned for the future.
