BYD Yuan Plus Third Generation Unveiled: 87% Charge in 9 Minutes

BYD has officially unveiled the third generation of its popular Yuan Plus electric crossover. While the exterior design remains largely unchanged, the vehicle has moved to an entirely new platform, with significant improvements in power and technological equipment. The price of the new model in the Chinese market is set between 120,000 and 150,000 yuan (approximately $16,500 to $21,000). This is reported by Ixbt.com .

One of the main changes is the transition to the rear-wheel-drive e-platform 3.0 Evo. The crossover is equipped with electric motors producing 200 kW (278 hp) or 240 kW (326 hp), with the iTAC 2.0 system responsible for torque distribution. The vehicle features second-generation Blade (lithium iron phosphate) batteries with capacities of 57.5 and 68.5 kWh, providing a range of 540 and 630 km on a single charge.

The new Yuan Plus supports ultra-fast charging technology: the battery can be charged from 10% to 97% in just 9 minutes. The battery also offers high safety and heat resistance. The chassis has been modernized: it features a McPherson front suspension and an independent five-link rear suspension. The Yunlian-C system manages shock absorber stiffness in real-time.

The vehicle's dimensions have increased, with a length of 4665 mm, contributing to a more spacious cabin. The trunk capacity is 750 liters, with an additional 180-liter front trunk (frunk). The interior has been completely redesigned: it includes a large media screen, a head-up display, a new steering wheel, and a 50W wireless charger. Passengers benefit from a refrigerator and a 16-speaker audio system.

The top trim level features the "Eye of God" Level 2 driver assistance system, equipped with a lidar and 30 sensors. This system fully supports autopilot mode in urban and highway environments, as well as automatic parking functions.
