893 rare houbara bustards released in Karakalpakstan

893 houbara bustards were released into the Ustyurt plateau in Karakalpakstan. These rare birds are included in the Uzbekistan Red Data Book and are considered an endangered species.
It is reported that authorities are conducting regular work to preserve houbara bustards and increase their numbers in the wild. To this end, it is planned to release 2,000 to 3,000 birds into nature annually.
The houbara bustard is also included in the appendix of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. This highlights the need for special attention to the protection of these birds.
