Uzbekistan Senate approves real estate rights registration reform

At the 15th plenary session of the Senate, the law "On amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was reviewed. In recent years, systematic work has been carried out in our country to realize the housing rights of the population and recognize rights to real estate objects. The law provides for accelerating the processes of recognizing rights to arbitrarily occupied land plots and buildings constructed on them, increasing the responsibility of authorized organizations, and creating additional conveniences for citizens. Furthermore, document review timelines are being shortened, and the procedure for handling complaints is being improved.

During the discussions, the concept of tax debt was clarified, and it was noted that a procedure for installment payments for the one-time fee to recognize lease rights to land plots is being introduced. Senators noted that these norms will serve to eliminate barriers in registering real estate rights.

At the end of the session, the senators approved this law.
