Citizens fined in Khorezm for burning straw

In Khorezm, several citizens were found burning straw and polluting the air, reported nova24.uz. On June 17, social media users began reporting such activities.

In response, the regional prosecutor’s office and the Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change conducted rapid inspections. Violations were discovered in Urgench and Khanka districts, where plant waste was being openly burned.

As a result, administrative protocols were issued to six individuals — three from Urgench and three from Khanka — under Article 88, Part 3. Each was fined 1,125,000 UZS.
