Jenna Ortega: "The fame from 'Wednesday' overwhelmed me"
Jenna Ortega, star of the Netflix series \"Wednesday\", which premiered in 2022 and quickly became the most popular English-language show, shared her thoughts on the sudden fame.

According to Ortega, she didn’t expect the project to become so popular while working on it: “No one can be ready for that. It shouldn’t be a normal thing. I’m very grateful, but it was really heavy,” the actress said.

Second season: family at the center
The next, second season of the Tim Burton-directed series is set to release soon. It will see Nevermore Academy reopen under new leadership, and Wednesday Addams’ parents — Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez (Luis Guzmán) — will play a more central role in the story.

Netflix has described this season as “a new kind of torture for a fiercely independent young investigator.” Jenna Ortega also revealed she joined the creative team as an executive producer this season: “It was a great learning experience for me. I tried to absorb as much as I could.”

Catherine Zeta-Jones said she was pleased to have a bigger role this season, giving her a chance to develop her character further: “In the first season, I appeared only as a matriarch. Now the complex relationship between mother and daughter will be explored more deeply.”
