Lewandowski becomes the first Barcelona player since Messi to score 35+ goals in a season

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has scored his 35th goal of the season, becoming the first player since Lionel Messi to reach this milestone. The 36-year-old Polish forward opened the scoring for Barcelona in the match against Atletico Madrid (4:2) in the 72nd minute. This marked his 35th goal in 40 matches this season.

According to Opta, Lewandowski is the first Barcelona player to score 35+ goals in a season since Messi, who last achieved this feat in the 2020/21 campaign (38 goals in 47 matches).

Lewandowski joined Barcelona in the summer of 2023 after moving from Bayern Munich.
