Young Uzbek boxers shine at Futures Cup

The international youth boxing tournament \"Futures Cup,\" currently taking place in Bangkok, Thailand, has reached a thrilling climax as the semifinal bouts concluded today. A total of ten talented boxers representing Uzbekistan stepped into the ring, showcasing exceptional skill and determination as they vied for a coveted spot in the final rounds of the competition.

The women\'s division saw a series of impressive performances. Rushanabonu Isoeva (-60 kg) secured a dominant victory by technical knockout in the third round against China\'s Jiaen Wang. Similarly, Asaloy Bakhtiyorova (-80 kg) overwhelmed Senegal\'s Mairame Sow with a second-round technical knockout. Samira Turgunova (-75 kg) displayed tactical brilliance to defeat American boxer Ariana Chavez with a 4:1 score, while Nazokat Mardonova (-51 kg) and Sevara Mamatova (-65 kg) also punched their tickets to the finals after decisive wins against their respective opponents from China and Italy. Unfortunately, Nilufarkhan Abduhashimova (+80 kg) fell short against Samoa\'s Kealey Perez.

In the men\'s categories, the Uzbek team continued to demonstrate their strength. Asadbek Sultonboev (-90 kg) made quick work of his opponent, Turkmen boxer Soyunali Ovezgeldiev, ending the bout with a technical knockout in the very first round. Sardorbek Bahromkhojaev (-85 kg) outclassed Georgia\'s Zurab Oboladze with a 4:0 victory, and Suhrob Rahmatullaev (-75 kg) rounded out the successful day by defeating New Zealand\'s Georgiy Bitiev with a clean 5:0 sweep. Meanwhile, Abdughani Yorkinjonov (-50 kg) concluded his tournament run with a bronze medal after a hard-fought match against India\'s Ambekar Meetei.

According to the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation, the team\'s performance in Bangkok highlights the depth of talent within the national youth program. With a significant number of athletes advancing to the final stage, the squad remains a top contender for the overall championship title. The coaching staff expressed satisfaction with the technical discipline shown by the boxers throughout the intense semifinal schedule.
