Borussia Dortmund abandons Jadon Sancho transfer, targets Arsenal star

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Ole Book has shifted the club's transfer strategy, abandoning plans to sign Jadon Sancho on a permanent deal. The German club is now focusing on strengthening the attacking midfield position. Negotiations with Sancho have been halted as the coaching staff re-evaluates the team's tactical needs. This is reported by Goal.com .
Borussia Dortmund is looking for a creative player to replace Julian Brandt. Arsenal's young talent Ethan Nwaneri is seen as the primary candidate. The 19-year-old, currently on loan at Marseille, has caught the attention of the club's management, though his high transfer valuation complicates the deal.
In an interview with Sky Sport, Ole Book stated that he aims to strengthen the squad with one or two new players before pre-season training begins. The club is searching for a versatile 'number 10' who fits the three-at-the-back tactical system and can also operate on the wings.
Alongside Nwaneri, Borussia Dortmund is also monitoring Hertha Berlin's 16-year-old talent Kennet Eichhorn. Clubs such as Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Bayer Leverkusen are also competing for the youngster. Although Eichhorn has a €9 million release clause, his overall transfer cost requires a significant investment from the club.
