Arsenal crowned Premier League champions after 22-year wait

Fans of London club Arsenal filled the area around Emirates Stadium in a festive mood. Manchester City's 1-1 draw against Bournemouth ensured Mikel Arteta's side were crowned Premier League champions with games to spare. This is according to Goal.com reports.

Videos circulating on social media show thousands of fans lighting red flares and waving flags to celebrate their team's historic victory. This result marks Arsenal's first league title since the 2003-2004 season.

The title race ended after Pep Guardiola's Manchester City dropped points away from home. A goal from Eli Junior Kroupi and an Erling Haaland equalizer were not enough for City, guaranteeing the trophy for the London club.

Mikel Arteta has ended the long wait with his team. The squad will now enjoy Sunday's match against Crystal Palace in a celebratory atmosphere and prepare for the Champions League final against PSG in Budapest on May 30.
