Neymar could not hold back tears after being called up to the Brazil national team

Brazilian star Neymar spoke openly about the emotional weight of his return to the international stage, admitting he cried for hours after being included in the Brazil squad for the 2026 World Cup. The Santos star has traveled a difficult path to earn a spot in Carlo Ancelotti's plans following a long-term serious injury. This is reported by Goal.com .
After being included in the final list announced by Ancelotti, Neymar expressed his emotions in an interview with Santos TV. The number 10, who was sidelined for a long time due to a severe injury sustained in October 2023, emphasized that this news was a great relief and the result of his hard work on the road to recovery.
"I cried for several hours; reaching this level was not easy. After my name was announced, I realized that overcoming all the difficulties and giving my all was worth it," said the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star. Having returned to his boyhood club, Neymar noted that the environment at Santos played a decisive role in his return to the top level.
Neymar feels that the support he received at the Rei Pele training center was key to his dream of returning to the national team. "I feel at home here. It's hard to explain. I want to thank everyone. This call-up is not just for me, but for everyone who has been part of this process, both on and off the pitch," he added.
Despite his high status and rich history with the national team, Neymar knows well that a starting spot in the 2026 World Cup is not guaranteed. Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear that the player's past services do not grant him privileges and that competition will be fierce during the preparation process in the USA. Nevertheless, Neymar remains optimistic and focused on team unity.
