Will Alisson leave Liverpool: John Arne Riise issues a surprise warning

Unexpected transfer rumors are swirling around Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson. However, former Merseyside star John Arne Riise explained in an interview with GOAL why it is unlikely that the Brazilian shot-stopper will leave the club in 2026. The experienced goalkeeper has spent an unforgettable eight years at Anfield, and despite having a current contract, his future remains in question. This is reported by Goal.com .
In 2018, when Jurgen Klopp was looking for a reliable defensive anchor, Liverpool scouts settled on Alisson. The transfer from Roma for £67 million made him the most expensive goalkeeper in the world at the time. The samba star quickly adapted to the Premier League and earned the reputation as one of the best keepers on the planet.
Alisson has made over 330 appearances for Liverpool and even provided dramatic moments, such as scoring a winning goal against West Bromwich in 2021. With the Reds, he has won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup. Now, rumors are circulating about his return to Italy, specifically to Juventus.
Commenting on these rumors, former defender Riise said: “I can’t imagine him leaving because he is an incredible player. He is so important for the club, the players, and our defense. If he leaves, who are you going to bring in to replace him? Who is at his level? Nobody. Unless you want to spend a huge amount of money again, there is no way he leaves.”
Alisson still has time left on his contract, but other major departures have been confirmed at Anfield. Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah is expected to leave the club in the final year of his contract, while Ibrahima Konate has refused to extend his deal. Additionally, Andy Robertson is among the players who could become a free agent.
