Anthropic acquires Stainless, a startup used by its competitors

Anthropic, a leader in the field of artificial intelligence, announced on Monday that it has acquired the startup Stainless. The company was founded by former Stripe engineer Alex Rattray, and its software has been widely used by major tech giants such as OpenAI, Google, and Cloudflare. This was reported by Techcrunch.com reports .

Although the terms of the deal were not disclosed, according to earlier reports, Anthropic may have spent more than $300 million on this startup. Stainless was funded by prestigious venture capital firms such as Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz.

Stainless is primarily known for its services in creating and automatically updating SDKs (Software Development Kits) that help developers work with APIs. This technology is considered crucial for AI agents to connect with external applications.

Anthropic stated that Stainless services will now exclusively serve them and will be closed to other companies. Existing SDKs will remain with customers, and there will be no restrictions on their use.

In his statement, Alex Rattray emphasized that he is pleased to collaborate with Anthropic and contribute to the development of the Claude platform. This acquisition allows Anthropic to strengthen its infrastructure and gain an advantage over competitors.
