Create Android apps in minutes using Google AI Studio

Google has added new features to its web-based Google AI Studio platform that allow for the creation of Android applications. Developers can now shorten the coding process, which previously took weeks, to just a few minutes. This innovation opens access to the Android ecosystem not only for experienced developers but also for users with no programming background. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .

The apps being created run on the Kotlin programming language and Google’s Jetpack Compose tools. The platform supports device sensors such as GPS, Bluetooth, and NFC. Users can test the app in real-time via the browser-based Android Emulator and install it on their smartphones via USB cable.

At the current stage, the created apps are primarily intended for personal use, but Google plans to add the ability to share them with friends and family in the future. Those who wish to further develop the project can export it to Android Studio and expand it via GitHub.

With this step, Google is intensifying competition with AI-based programming tools such as Cursor, Replit, and Claude Code. The company aims to expand Firebase integrations and distribution capabilities via the Google Play Console in the future.
