Spotify reserves concert tickets for its most loyal fans

Spotify is launching a new feature to increase user engagement. Now, an artist's most dedicated fans will be the first to have the opportunity to reserve tickets for their upcoming shows. The company aims to encourage users to stream more and be more active on the platform. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .

Although Spotify has not disclosed specific criteria for a "true fan," it stated that it uses metrics such as play counts, sharing, and other activity signals. At the same time, the platform strictly monitors attempts to manipulate statistics using bots or artificial intelligence (AI). The company's blog notes that offers are limited, which prevents tickets from falling into the hands of scalpers.

Selected fans will be notified via email and in-app notifications about the opportunity to purchase two tickets. For now, this program is available to users over 18 in the US, who are given approximately one day to make their purchase. Spotify does not sell tickets directly but facilitates the buying process through partner sites.

This project will be launched starting this summer for tours announced by select artists. There are plans to expand the program in the future. For reference, last year Spotify introduced several features such as searching for live events, tracking specific locations, and finding nearby concerts via playlists.
