Spotify launches podcast clipping feature

Sharing the most interesting moments from podcasts has become easier for Spotify users. Starting Wednesday, the platform introduced a new "Podcast clips" feature. Now, using the scissors icon in the "Now Playing" view, listeners can clip their favorite segments and share them with friends via social media or messengers. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .

When clipping an audio segment, users can preview it before editing and sharing. When the share button is pressed, the system offers the option to send the specific clip along with a link to the full episode, a specific chapter, or a timestamp. This innovation is especially useful for quickly distributing key quotes from long interviews.

For the tech industry, this feature is highly relevant. Currently, major tech companies and AI leaders prefer appearing on podcasts over traditional media. With many important announcements now being made in podcasts, the new feature helps extract the most essential parts of multi-hour conversations.

According to Spotify, the "Chapters" feature introduced earlier this year has also generated significant interest, being added to playlists over 2 million times per month. Saved clips are stored in the user's Spotify Library and can be replayed at any time. The new feature is being rolled out globally for both free and Premium users on the mobile app.
