Medical certificates and sick leave notes to be issued via Max messenger

By the end of 2026, Russia plans to implement a nationwide service for ordering medical documents and certificates online. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Vadim Vankov during his speech at the State Duma. This is reported by Ixbt.com .

Currently, this project, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Development, is being piloted in the Tyumen Region and the Chuvash Republic. The essence of the new initiative is that the necessary documents are automatically generated based on data available in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR).

The list of documents that can be ordered remotely includes the most popular certificates for which citizens previously had to visit clinics in person and wait in lines. The system will allow users to request various medical reports and sick leave notes.

Vadim Vankov emphasized that the ministry's main goal is to completely relieve people of the obligation to visit medical institutions just to obtain paperwork. The entire process will be digitized: a citizen simply needs to log into the public services portal and submit the relevant electronic request.

After automatic processing by the system, the finished document will be promptly sent to the applicant in electronic format via the national Max messenger. This is an important step toward reducing bureaucracy in the healthcare system and integrating digital technologies into daily life.
