97% of construction work in Uzbekistan done by private firms

Uzbekistan\'s construction sector continues its steady growth, mainly driven by privately-owned organizations, reported UPL.uz.
Between January and April 2025, private companies completed construction work totaling 71.9 trillion soums. This figure accounts for 97.2% of all construction activity in the country during this period.
Meanwhile, the contribution of state-owned construction companies was significantly lower — only 2.1 trillion soums, or 2.8% of the total volume.
Private sector share in total construction volume for January–April by year:
• 2022 — 97.3%
• 2023 — 98.6%
• 2024 — 97%
• 2025 — 97.2%
