More boys born in Uzbekistan

New data on birth rates in Uzbekistan for the first three months of 2026 have been released. According to the National Statistics Committee, 191,086 live births were recorded in the country from January to March.
Looking at the statistics, more boys were born than girls during this period. Specifically, 98,500 boys were born, accounting for 51.5% of total births.
The number of girls was 92,600, which equals 48.5% of the total. Thus, the share of boys among babies born in the first quarter of 2026 was slightly higher.
By region, 93,700 births were recorded in urban areas, representing 49.1% of the total. In rural areas, 97,400 births were registered, accounting for 50.9%.
Additionally, the birth rate per thousand population was 20.2 per mille during this period. This figure indicates that demographic processes remain active in the country.
In short, more than 191,000 babies were born in Uzbekistan between January and March 2026, with a higher proportion of boys. These numbers may seem simple, but each represents a family's joy and a new life.
