Crypto card payment volume increased by 230 percent in one year

The volume of monthly payments made via crypto-linked debit and credit cards has grown by nearly 230 percent compared to last year. According to data from the analytical publication The Kobeissi Letter, the total volume of transactions made through such cards reached $7.8 billion this month. This is reported by Cointelegraph.com .

Payment giant Visa has captured nearly 90 percent of crypto card transactions through partnerships with on-chain companies like Jupiter Global. The Jupiter Global project was launched by the team behind the Jupiter decentralized exchange on the Solana network, accelerating the integration of digital assets into the traditional financial system.

Analysts note that the growth of crypto payment cards shows that digital assets, especially stablecoins, are entering the financial system in partnership with existing payment providers like Mastercard and Visa, rather than displacing them. For example, the OKX exchange introduced a stablecoin payment card operating on the Mastercard network for European customers in January 2026.

According to OKX data, 26 percent of transactions made via the card in January were for grocery store purchases, 18 percent for restaurants, and 13 percent for online shopping. These figures indicate that cryptocurrency is finding its place not only as a speculative asset but also as a real payment instrument in daily life.
