Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer revealed details of an interesting conversation with the management of Real Madrid. According to him, the Spanish giants highly value the Munich club's management system and financial independence. This is reported by Goal.com reports .
In an interview with Sport Bild, Hainer said that during a lunch held before their Champions League match, the Madrid representatives admitted that they consider Bayern Munich their only role model and source of inspiration. The main reason cited is the club's lack of dependence on external investors.
Currently, leading Premier League teams like Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool remain under the control of foreign investors. While Real Madrid and Barcelona are member-owned clubs, they operate in the transfer market with significant debt. Bayern, however, operates completely debt-free while retaining the majority of its shares.
Recall that this season, Bayern reached the Champions League semi-finals after defeating Real Madrid with a 6-4 aggregate score in the quarter-finals. However, the Munich side failed to overcome Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals. In the final, the Paris club will face English champions Arsenal.
