Robert Lewandowski bids emotional farewell to Barcelona

Experienced Polish striker Robert Lewandowski delivered an emotional farewell speech to his teammates as he prepares to leave Barcelona at the end of the season. The 37-year-old could not hold back tears during his final home match at Camp Nou, bringing his prolific spell at the Catalan club to an end. This is reported by Goal.com reports.

During the final training session before the match against Real Betis, Lewandowski focused more on the club's future than his own departure. Although he could not secure the top European trophy during his four years, the striker believes the current squad is capable of winning on the continental stage. According to CadenaSER, he told his teammates: "You are ready to win the Champions League."

After the speech, all team members embraced the Polish star. Team captain Ronald Araujo and head coach Hansi Flick also spoke, expressing gratitude to the number nine who served as a role model for young players. The 3-1 victory over Real Betis served as a fitting farewell stage for Lewandowski.

Hansi Flick substituted the legendary striker in the 83rd minute, allowing him to leave the pitch to a standing ovation from the fans. After the game, Lewandowski went onto the pitch with his family and addressed the supporters: "When I came to Barcelona, I knew how great this club was, but your support has been incredible. I felt at home here. I will never forget you chanting my name."

The striker's departure was also difficult for young stars, particularly Lamine Yamal. The young talent posted on social media: "We will miss you, legend." Hansi Flick emphasized that Lewandowski was a "true professional and role model," admitting that it would be difficult to replace a striker who scored 119 goals in 192 matches for the Blaugrana.
