Toyota RAV4 could be produced as a pickup truck

Following the success of the compact pickup segment, particularly the Ford Maverick, Toyota is considering a new project in this direction. Toyota's North American leadership stated that a pickup based on the RAV4 is a promising project and that dealers are eagerly awaiting this model. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .

In the US market, the Ford Maverick has achieved great success in sales, with over 155,000 units sold in a single year. Meanwhile, competitors like the Hyundai Santa Cruz have failed to achieve similar results and are even preparing to exit the market prematurely.

If Toyota implements this project, the new pickup is expected to be equipped with the hybrid engines found in the RAV4. Currently, the base hybrid system of the RAV4 produces 236 horsepower, while the plug-in hybrid version offers 324 horsepower and an electric-only range of up to 84 kilometers.

These technical specifications could make the upcoming pickup both more powerful and more fuel-efficient than the Ford Maverick. However, Toyota representatives noted that the project will take time to develop and have not yet disclosed an official release date for the model.
