Woman who became a mother 8 times to escape punishment

A 31-year-old woman living in Samsun, Turkey, was finally caught after committing multiple thefts and could not escape punishment this time. It is reported that she was found guilty in nearly 60 criminal cases related to home burglaries and sentenced to a total of more than 65 years and 10 months in prison.
According to sources, the woman had previously used pregnancy or the young age of her children as grounds to postpone her sentences. Under Turkish law, women with children under 18 months old are granted the opportunity to defer their sentences. It is believed she took advantage of this legal privilege multiple times.
According to reports, the woman is currently a mother of 8 children. Her eldest child is 13 years old, while the youngest is said to be 6 months old.
In the latest crime, she was accused of stealing approximately 20,000 Turkish Lira from a house together with her 13-year-old son. As a result of surveillance by law enforcement agencies, the mother and son were apprehended.
This time, the court made a firm decision against her, imposing an additional sentence of 3 years, 9 months, and 18 days for theft and violation of home privacy. At the same time, the court decided to keep her in custody.
Following this incident, a judge in Samsun appealed to the Turkish Ministry of Justice, proposing amendments to the legislation to review and place restrictions on the right to defer sentences due to having children.
