Unexpected incident in the elevator: power bank suddenly catches fire

An unusual and dangerous incident occurred in the Russian city of Surgut. A power bank (portable charger) inside a girl's bag suddenly caught fire just after she entered an elevator.

The incident took place on May 21 and was fully captured by the elevator's surveillance camera. The footage shows that as soon as the girl entered the elevator and pressed the button for her floor, smoke and flames began to emerge from her bag.

Realizing the situation quickly, the girl immediately moved the bag away from her and threw it on the floor. Shortly after, the elevator doors opened, and she managed to exit safely.

According to the regional Emergency Situations Department, the girl was not injured in the incident. Experts note that such cases often occur with low-quality or damaged power bank batteries.
