Student attempting to take a selfie falls from a cliff and dies

Details of a tragic incident in Russia's Irkutsk region have been revealed. According to reports, a 24-year-old student fell to her death while trying to take a photo on a cliff.

Earlier, reports circulated on social media that the incident occurred on May 24, 2026, in the area of the white cliffs near Kholmushchino village. The girl climbed a high cliff, attempting to take a selfie against a beautiful landscape.

However, the ground where she was standing suddenly gave way, causing the student to fall from a height of nearly 100 meters. Those who arrived at the scene immediately retrieved the victim and placed her in an ambulance.

Unfortunately, the girl passed away while being transported to the hospital. Currently, relevant authorities are investigating the tragedy to determine the exact causes of the incident.

Considering the increase in visitors to mountainous areas during the summer season, experts advise vacationers to exercise increased caution and refrain from taking photos in dangerous locations.
