Driver responsible for traffic police officer's death sentenced to prison

A court verdict has been announced in the case regarding the tragic death of an internal affairs officer while on duty in Namangan. This was reported by the Road Safety Service.

It is reported that Islomjon Bahodirov was found guilty under several articles of the criminal code: resisting a representative of authority or a person performing their official duties (Article 219, Part 2), violation of traffic rules (Article 266, Part 2), and leaving in danger (Article 117, Part 2).

According to the court decision, he was sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment. He was also deprived of the right to drive all types of vehicles for 3 years.

At the same time, the court document notes that the defendant's actions were assessed as a deliberate traffic accident and recognized as actions contrary to the relevant traffic regulations.

The incident caused widespread public discussion, and the court established criminal penalties with its final decision.
