Nathan Allman, founder and CEO of Ondo Finance and a pioneer in blockchain tokenization, has passed away at the age of 32. In a statement on X on Monday, the company expressed deep sorrow over Allman's unexpected death and extended its condolences to his family. This was reported by Cointelegraph.com .
Nathan Allman founded Ondo Finance in 2021, playing a key role in bringing real-world assets (RWA) onto the blockchain. Under his leadership, the company successfully tokenized $3.86 billion in U.S. Treasury bonds, equities, and commodities. Currently, over 111,000 investors hold assets tokenized by Ondo.
The tokenization movement initiated by Allman caught the attention of Wall Street giants like BlackRock. Before launching Ondo, he worked on the digital assets team at Goldman Sachs and co-founded the crypto hedge fund ChainStreet Capital. Experts praised his belief in using technology to create a more open and accessible financial system.
It has been announced that company president Ian De Bode will now assume the role of CEO. In his statement, De Bode noted that Allman was not only a strong visionary but also a close friend, affirming that his mission and the goals of the Ondo project remain unchanged. No details regarding the cause of death have been released yet.
