Large-scale counterfeit money was discovered in Namangan

During an operational event held in the Chartak district of the Namangan region, a case involving the circulation of counterfeit banknotes was uncovered. The event was organized in cooperation with the State Security Service and internal affairs bodies.

It turned out that a resident of the Asaka district of the Andijan region, a citizen born in 2005, was caught while selling 200 counterfeit banknotes worth 100,000 soums and 125 counterfeit banknotes worth 200,000 soums to a \"conditional buyer\" for a total of 18 million soums.

During the investigation, counterfeit money in the amount of 5 million soums in 100,000 soums was also discovered from the suspect\'s possession and seized as material evidence.

Also, during the inspection of his residential address, a laptop, a color printer, special paints, and paper products, which were allegedly used for counterfeiting money, were seized.

It is noted that this person had previously been convicted of committing a similar type of crime.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 176, Part 2, Clause \"a\" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and a preventive measure in the form of detention has been applied to the suspect. Currently, the investigation is ongoing.
