Tashkent Mayor Secures Major Infrastructure Agreements in China

There is great news that will completely transform the face of our capital and create many conveniences for its residents! As part of an official visit to the People's Republic of China, an Uzbekistan delegation led by Tashkent Mayor Shavkat Umurzakov held highly important and promising negotiations with the leadership of the world-renowned China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC).

It is no exaggeration to say that this meeting was not just a formal discussion, but a huge step toward turning Tashkent into a more beautiful, modern, and livable metropolis.

So, what projects were discussed with Chinese investors for our capital? We have gathered the most interesting details for you.

Renovation and New Ecological Approaches in Tashkent

First and foremost, the meeting addressed the comprehensive renovation of Tashkent, i.e., rebuilding outdated buildings and areas based on modern standards. Ideas were exchanged on fundamentally updating urban infrastructure and introducing advanced digital solutions and green technologies into the construction sector.

Furthermore, an important initiative was put forward to protect our capital's ecology. The Chinese side was invited to participate in a project to build a new high-tech landfill in Tashkent that processes construction and household waste using modern, environmentally friendly methods.

Toll Roads and New Airport Highway

The negotiations also focused on easing traffic in Tashkent. To prevent congestion in the city, plans for building additional toll roads were reviewed. Two projects are of particular importance:

  • New Ring Road: Construction of a new toll ring road passing outside the city, approximately 100 kilometers long.

  • Road to the Airport: A project for a high-speed and convenient toll highway leading to the new international airport expected to be built in the future.

The Social Sector Was Not Left Out

The negotiations covered not only roads or buildings but also facilities vital for the health of our children and people. Cooperation opportunities for building modern schools, kindergartens meeting international standards, and hospitals equipped with the latest medical equipment were thoroughly examined.

Representatives of China's CRCC expressed great interest in these major initiatives put forward by the Tashkent city administration. They announced their full readiness to actively participate in the changes in our capital and expand practical partnership. We look forward to the speedy implementation of these projects that will fundamentally improve our travel and daily lives!
