Men over 70 are becoming fathers in Uzbekistan


The occurrence of fatherhood among older men in Uzbekistan is drawing attention. Specifically, it was reported that 14 men aged 70 and older became fathers during the first three months of 2026.
According to data from the National Statistics Committee, a total of 162 men aged 60 and older have had children. This indicates that there is a notable number of men experiencing the joy of fatherhood at an advanced age.
In total, 191,086 live births were recorded across the republic in the first three months of 2026. Statistical analysis shows that births are primarily attributed to men aged 25–39, with 158,984 men in this age group becoming fathers.
At the same time, it was recorded that 16,398 men under the age of 25 also had children. This demonstrates that fatherhood remains active across both younger and older generations.
Experts note that such indicators reflect the diversity of demographic processes and show that people of various ages are entering family life in society.
