Keir Starmer calls for free broadcast of Arsenal vs PSG final

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has urged TNT Sports to broadcast the Champions League final between Arsenal and PSG for free across the country. The Gunners are reaching the final of Europe's most prestigious tournament for the first time since 2006, but fans are currently required to have a paid subscription to watch this historic moment. This is reported by Goal.com reports .
It is well known that Keir Starmer is a die-hard Arsenal fan. In a letter to the broadcaster's management, he reminded them that all finals have been shown for free since 1992. "I am disappointed that for the first time in the 34 years since the competition was established, TNT Sports has decided not to show the final for free. The Champions League is the biggest club competition in the world and it is highly valued by fans in this country, the home of football," the Prime Minister wrote.
Mikel Arteta's side reached the final after defeating Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals, returning to the pinnacle of European football after a twenty-year hiatus. Having secured their first Premier League title since 2004 earlier this week, the London club is now on the verge of a historic double. Starmer emphasized that making the game accessible to everyone is not just about his personal interests.
TNT Sports has abandoned its tradition of broadcasting the final for free on YouTube in previous years, directing viewers to the HBO Max platform. In a statement, the broadcaster noted that a one-month subscription of £4.99 is sufficient to watch all three UEFA finals, which they claim is an affordable price for fans.
