Kalashnikov unveils new Fortis drone capable of carrying FPV drones

The Kalashnikov concern has unveiled its new Fortis unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with vertical take-off and landing capabilities at the International Security Forum. These systems feature unique functionality, acting as a 'mothership' for FPV drones, reports Ixbt.com. reports .

The new device enables remote control of FPV drones at distances of up to 100 kilometers by relaying signals from ground control stations. Fortis units can remain airborne for up to 8 hours, performing aerial monitoring, object detection, and aerologistics tasks simultaneously.

Technically, depending on the modification, these drones can carry payloads ranging from 5 to 18 kilograms. The device reaches a maximum speed of 110 km/h and can operate at altitudes of up to 3,000 meters.

A single complex includes up to four UAVs. Upon customer request, the delivery package can be supplemented with special training simulators, crew initial training tools, and diagnostic test benches.

The International Security Forum is taking place from May 26 to May 29, 2026, at the Live Arena complex near Moscow, showcasing the latest technological developments in military and civil security.
