A new regulation has been approved in the higher education system of Uzbekistan

The Ministry of Justice has submitted for state registration an important interdepartmental document on the field of higher education. Based on this document, a new regulation on higher education was officially approved. The regulation clearly defines the organization of the higher education system, the educational process, management, financial relations, and the rights and obligations of students and teaching staff.
According to the regulation, higher education is carried out through bachelor\'s and master\'s degrees. Bachelor\'s education must last at least three years. Also, full-time, part-time, evening, distance, dual and inclusive forms of education have been established for students. Part-time education lasts at least one year, and evening education lasts more than half a year.
In order for students to fully meet the requirements of the labor market, curricula and qualification requirements are developed in collaboration with employers. They have the following rights: to make proposals for improving the quality of education, to participate in discussions on the educational process, to use the library and information resources free of charge, to participate in international exchange and joint educational programs, to appeal against decisions of the management of the higher education institution, to work in accordance with labor legislation and to receive scholarships in the form of full-time education.
The regulation prohibits the involvement of students in work unrelated to education and requires compliance with the internal regulations and rules of conduct of higher education institutions. In addition, the educational process will be organized on the basis of the national credit-module system and adapted to the European credit transfer system.
The granting of academic, organizational and financial independence to higher education institutions is considered an important step for the quality of education and the development of the institution. These changes will serve to open a new stage in the higher education system of Uzbekistan and provide broad opportunities for students and teachers.
