BRT lanes and a new tunnel to be built in Tashkent

New phases of work are being planned to improve the public transport system and regulate traffic in Tashkent. The capital's press service has announced the terms of a tender to select a consultant for the development of the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system.
This document provides information on several major projects aimed at transforming the city's road infrastructure. According to the plan, special lanes for buses will be established on several key streets in Tashkent.
Specifically, BRT lanes are expected to appear on Shahrisabz Street, Yangi Sergeli Street, and Amir Temur Avenue. These lanes are intended to speed up public transport, reduce bus congestion, and provide more convenient service for passengers.
Additionally, a new transport solution is planned at the intersection of Amir Temur Avenue with Yangishahar and Rixsiliy streets. A tunnel construction is envisioned in this area to reduce traffic load at the intersection.
Experts believe such projects are crucial for redistributing traffic flow in the capital, reducing road congestion, and prioritizing public transport. Especially on busy streets, the rapid bus system will allow passengers to save time.
However, during the implementation of these plans, road works may be carried out in certain parts of the city, traffic schemes may temporarily change, and certain inconveniences for drivers may arise.
In short, transport reforms in Tashkent are intensifying. The new BRT lanes and tunnel project are expected to help ease traffic in the city. At first, a little "patience mode" will be needed on the roads, but if implemented correctly, the results could be beneficial for the city.
