Salavat Yulaev Defeats SKA to End Losing Streak

In Ufa, during a fiercely contested match as part of the regular KHL championship, "Salavat Yulaev" defeated SKA with a score of 2–1, ending their two-game losing streak. Under the leadership of Viktor Kozlov, the team demonstrated resilience, withstanding the visitors' initial pressure and managing to change the course of the game in the second period.

In the opening minutes of the match, the St. Petersburg team seized the initiative. In the seventh minute, Grimaldi converted a pass from Murphy into a precise shot, scoring the opening goal — 0–1.

However, the hosts did not concede defeat. Thanks to several brilliant saves by Vyuzovoy and active gameplay from Roduold and Brosso, "Salavat" launched a rare but effective counterattack in the 16th minute.

Stewart struck from the right circle, leaving Zavragin helpless and equalizing the score — 1–1. The end of the first period was tense, with the Ufa team receiving two penalties, but Vyuzovoy and the defenders managed to maintain control of the situation.

After the whistle, Rempal received a two-minute penalty, leaving SKA shorthanded at the start of the second period. Despite this, SKA failed to capitalize on their numerical advantage in the second period.

Instead, the hosts took full advantage of a defensive mistake by the visitors. In the 31st minute, Gazimov capitalized on Nabiyev's strike, sending the puck past Zavragin and into the net — 2–1.

Following that, "Salavat" displayed solid defensive play. Vyuzovoy confidently thwarted shots by Menell and Murphy.

In the 33rd minute, Nabiyev earned his first point of the season, while Sorkin recorded his first assist in the KHL. SKA attempted to turn the game in their favor.

Zavragin made several crucial saves against shots from Gazimov and Kuznetsov, but "Salavat" goalie Vyuzovoy blocked all long-range attempts by the visitors. In the 44th minute, SKA came close to scoring in a two-on-one situation, but Gorshkov intercepted the pass in time, preventing a one-on-one scenario.

Despite SKA's pressure, "Salavat" showed determination in defense and held onto their victory — 2–1.
