No additional or rescheduled days off will be introduced in Uzbekistan for the upcoming New Year holiday. This was confirmed based on the existing labor legislation. Therefore, the regular work and rest schedule will remain unchanged at the end of the year.
It has been announced that December 31 will be considered the eve of the holiday, and on this date, the working hours for all employees will be reduced by at least one hour. This rule is explicitly stipulated in Article 187 of the Labor Code, and employers are obligated to comply with it.
January 1, 2026, which falls on a Thursday, will be an official day off in celebration of the New Year. However, no additional leave days have been planned after the holiday. Specifically, January 2, which is a Friday, will be a regular working day for all employees.
As for January 3, which falls on a Saturday, its status depends on the workweek structure: those working a five-day schedule will consider it a day off, while for employees on a six-day workweek, it will be a regular working day. January 4, Sunday, remains a traditional day off for everyone.
Thus, no additional holidays have been scheduled at the end of the year or the beginning of the new year. Citizens are advised to plan their holiday activities according to this schedule, and employers are urged to strictly adhere to labor law requirements.
