
Uzbekistan’s national team continues its successful participation in the Islamic Solidarity Games taking place in Riyadh. Uzbek athletes in taekwondo, fencing, and athletics secured gold and silver medals, strengthening the country's position in the overall medal standings.
Diyorbek To'xtiboyev brought another gold medal to Uzbekistan. Competing in the 67 kg weight category, he defeated his Turkish opponent in the final match to become the champion of the tournament.
Another gold medal was won by Marat Mavlonov. He triumphed in the over 82 kg weight category after defeating the representative from Kazakhstan, adding a gold medal to the team’s tally.
In the women's over 70 kg weight category, Svetlana Osipova concluded her participation with a silver medal. She lost to her Turkish opponent in the final match.
The men’s fencing final turned into an all-Uzbek contest, with Meyirxon Tohirov defeating Javohir Nurmatov. Tohirov’s victory secured the 20th gold medal for the delegation.
In the women’s fencing final, Guliston Perdiboyeva fought for gold but fell short, losing to her Turkish rival with a score of 8–15, thus claiming second place.
Sharifa Davronova earned a silver medal in the triple jump event. She recorded a result of 13.91 meters, finishing the competition in second place.
