Uzhydromet has released forecasts for the first days of January. To the question of what weather is expected in January, specialists answer: January is the coldest month of winter in Uzbekistan, but sharp frosts throughout the month are rare.
It is noted that in recent years, against the backdrop of global climate change, most of January has been warmer than normal. In particular, in 2016, 2019, 2022, and 2024, air temperatures were significantly higher than usual.
According to the forecast of Uzhydromet, dry and relatively warm weather will persist in the republic in the first days of January 2026. Around January 3, due to the influx of humid air masses, rain is possible, and in some areas, it may alternate with snow. In plains, snow cover is likely to be short-lived or not formed at all.
Starting from the middle of the month, the air temperature begins to gradually decrease. In the third ten-day period, as a result of the intrusion of cold waves, frost of 15-25 degrees Celsius is possible in some areas at night.
