On December 25, after the Association presented the national team head coach Fabio Cannavaro's plan for the 2026 World Cup to the Uzbekistan Professional Football League (UzPFL), changes were made to the Super League 2026 calendar plan.
According to the UzPFL, it is no longer possible to hold Super League matches starting May 5th. Thus, the League was forced to change its calendar plan, which had already been developed in August.
"We presented the new plan to the clubs within 24 hours, and they agreed to the new calendar within the specified timeframe. The national team will begin training camp with local players starting May 5th and will participate in friendly matches against the Super League's leading clubs on May 10th, 17th, and 24th. The process will continue with the June FIFA dates and the World Cup.
Considering that there is a big break during May, June, and July, which affects the integrity of the Super League, the rest of May will continue with the Uzbekistan Cup.
In turn, the League also took into account the approaching Asian Cup 2027. A pressing issue is that candidate players for the main team take a short vacation during December and then begin training camps before the Asian Cup. Taking this into account, the second part of the season, which is planned to continue after the end of the 2026 World Cup, will continue from July 20.
The final round of the Super League will take place on December 3rd. Clubs that will not participate in the transition matches and the Uzbekistan Cup semi-finals will take a break after this date. "A total of four matches will be held in Tashkent in a centralized manner, taking into account the fact that they will be organized in a short time, to alleviate the problems of locations for clubs arising from potential opponents after a difficult season, and to allow players to recover between matches," the UzPFL said in a statement.
It is noted that the summer transfer window will be between June 22 and July 24. The inclusion of new players who join the club during this period will be permitted starting from the 14th round of the Super League.
