Jahongir Sindarov Welcomed with Ceremony in Tashkent

Jahongir Sindarov given a grand welcome in Tashkent
Today, 19-year-old grandmaster Javokhir Sindarov, the winner of the FIDE World Cup, arrived at Tashkent International Airport on flight HY-424 from New Delhi. He became the youngest champion in the history of this tournament.

A ceremonial welcome event was organized for Sindarov at the domestic aviation terminal. Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, representatives of sports organizations, chess players, and his family members gathered to congratulate him.

Yesterday, Sindarov defeated Chinese grandmaster Wei Yi in the final of the World Cup, securing a spot in the 2026 Candidates Tournament.
