The news about the summer transfer of midfielder Ederson is becoming increasingly interesting. Spanish club Atletico Madrid had intended to buy the 26-year-old Brazilian player in the winter transfer window, but an agreement was only reached for Nigerian striker Ademola Lookman.
According to insider Fabrizio Romano, Atletico and Ederson have reached an agreement in principle on the summer transfer and personal terms.
The midfielder's current contract with Atalanta runs until the summer of 2027. Last week, the Italian and Spanish clubs discussed the player's transfer fee, and relations between the two sides remain on a good level.
The transfer fee can be around 35-40 million euros. "Atletico" plans to complete this agreement before the 2026 World Cup.
This season, Ederson has scored 1 goal and received 1 yellow card in 23 matches in Serie A, which shows his effectiveness on the pitch.
