During my first visit to the RUF workshop in Pfaffenhausen, I was greeted by a disassembled Porsche 550 Spyder. Specialists were busy installing the company's 4.1-liter Mezger engine into it. Although the technicians considered this a risky and unnatural idea, the customer's request was fulfilled. As a result, a true beast of a car was born, boasting 900 horsepower per ton and leaving everyone around in awe. This is reported by Autocar.co.uk reports .
On the side of the workshop, the legendary Yellowbird model could easily be seen. Recalling those times, the company's test engineer Rafael Riethmüller proudly mentions how astonishing it was to reach 212 mph at a time when the Mk2 Golf GTI was considered a fast car.
