Volkswagen Tiguan and Passat: New models with 1400 km range

The SAIC Volkswagen joint venture is preparing to launch two new plug-in hybrid models: the Passat ePro and Tiguan L ePro. The official debut of the new models is scheduled for May 29, and they are distinguished by their high fuel efficiency. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .
Both models are equipped with the same powertrain: a 1.5-liter EA211 turbocharged gasoline engine, a single electric motor, a TQ251 transmission, and a 22 kWh battery. The internal combustion engine produces 129 hp, while the electric motor delivers 197 hp. The Passat ePro is rated for a total range of 1468 km, and the Tiguan L ePro for 1423 km.
The Passat ePro features a completely updated exterior. Key elements include new LED headlights, a continuous LED light strip on the front, and an illuminated Volkswagen logo. The car is 5017 mm long with a wheelbase of 2871 mm. The interior highlights include three screens on the dashboard (a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch multimedia system).
The Tiguan L ePro crossover also features design elements typical of new electrified vehicles: updated LED optics and an illuminated logo. The crossover measures 4744 x 1842 x 1684 mm with a wheelbase of 2791 mm. The interior features the same three-screen setup, a new steering wheel, and a dedicated comfort seat for the front passenger.
