Nearly 40% of Uzbeks did not save money last year
Nearly 40% of Uzbekistan’s population did not save money, Uz24.uz reported, citing a survey conducted with support from the Central Bank and the Asian Development Bank.

Survey results indicate a low savings culture among citizens. Only 7.4% of participants reported having savings in financial institutions.

By region:
. In Tashkent city, 25% of respondents did not save any funds in the past 12 months.
. In Karakalpakstan, the figure reached 54%, marking the lowest savings level.

Saving behavior varies by region, education level, and employment status. Among those with higher education, 27% reported not saving money.
