Maka Kids has created a safe and beneficial streaming platform for children

At a time when the children's media landscape is flooded with sensational content like "Baby Shark" and "Skibidi Toilet," the Maka Kids startup is offering a completely new approach. The company has developed a special streaming app designed for children aged 0 to 6, aimed at supporting their healthy development. The startup has raised $3 million in investment to expand its platform and is currently accepting users via a waitlist. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .
Unlike traditional platforms, the Maka Kids app does not feature recommendation algorithms, ads, or auto-play. Instead, the app provides a stable experience that supports learning, creativity, and emotional growth in children. Founders Isabel Sheinman and Tanyella Leta previously delivered books to over 15 million children in 26 countries through the Nabu non-profit organization.
All content on the Maka Kids platform is evaluated based on the Maka Imprint system, developed over two years in collaboration with researchers at the Yale Child Study Center. This system analyzes seven key areas of child development, including language learning, emotional skills, and growth mindset, across more than 650 indicators. This allows parents to ensure that their children's screen time is high-quality.
Every show in the app is carefully vetted for frame rate, stimulation level, color contrast, and narrative structure. Maka Kids partners with studios and animators to produce original, low-stimulation, calmer content that reflects diverse cultures worldwide. This helps prevent children from becoming agitated after their screen time ends.
